Since the introduction of live touch screen roulette, touch bet gaming in the Casino industry has run on a standalone model. This means every gaming terminal has pre-installed all the software and technology to run one game, such as roulette. All player/game interactions and transactions are recorded and executed by the computer found inside the terminal and everything, from sound effects, to graphics to the player’s financials details are stored locally on the gaming terminal that they are playing on. This leads to many limitations of the standalone model. If a terminal breaks down then the player’s financial details may be lost. The standalone model means even though an Operator has invested heavily on the gaming terminal they can only offer their customer one game to play on the machine. This is especially bad when gaming floor space is at a premium. Customisation of the games can be very difficult since each individual gaming terminal needs to be modified to reflect individual Casinos table maximums and minimums. In fact customisation can be so difficult that most Gaming Developers simply refuse to offer any level of customisation at all, giving Casino Operators the choice of an off the shelf product or nothing at all. Until now that is.  One terminal, many different options! Xtale is at the forefront of gaming technology and as such we have developed a gaming platform that overcomes all of the above disadvantages whilst offering a plethora of new benefits to Casino Operators worldwide. Xtale operates on a server/client based model. Unlike the standalone model, the Xtale server based model allows our gaming terminals to run many different live touch based games. From the luxury of an Xtale terminal customers can choose to play from a variety of live games such as Punto Banco or Roulette whilst we can offer Casinos a variety of customisation options, from bespoke graphics to unique table minimum and maximums. The Server/client model works by utilising two powerful computers, Gaming Server and Cash Server, which the Casino locates in a secure area. These two computers are then connected by a network to our gaming terminals which can be located anywhere on the gaming floor. Unlike the standalone model, our terminals hardware is not pre-installed with a gaming solution. Instead, our gaming terminals connect to our servers and allow the customer the option of playing whatever games are available on the Game Server. Furthermore, by utilising this method, our terminals never have to store a player’s financial details locally on a terminal since all of the transactions and bets are actually computed by the Cash Server. This means if a hardware fault should occur on a gaming terminal then the players details are in no way compromised because they were never saved on the terminal they were playing on. The Server/Client model allows for many other benefits as outlined below:- 1.Because all games are run from the Game Server, by adding new gaming content to the Game Server a Casino Operator can then offer their customers a wider selection of games from ALL of their Xtale terminals. 2.Features such as Table Minimum/Maximums, Bet Values and House Rules can all be configured to match the Operator’s Casino, meaning Operators have greater control over their gaming terminals. 3.Because the Servers execute all player interactions and store the financial details, the actual gaming terminals are inherently secure. As such it is impossible to tamper with a gaming terminal to affect either the player’s financial details or the outcome of a game. 4.Future expansion by Operators is made much simpler. By connecting new live gaming tables to the Gaming Server, an Operator can open these tables to all of their gaming terminals or to a specific few. The choice is with the Operator! 5.Since all graphics are stored on the server, by updating the server it is possible to create custom graphics for a Casino installation.
